How to avoid a “Frankenstein’s Monster” of a Brochure Design!

Those of you that have read the about section of this site will have seen that I’ve worked at two London based design agencies in the past. When working at one agency we used to have a few sayings for different design related happenings.

One of the things we used to talk about was called a “Frankenstein’s Monster”! No, we didn’t have a love of monster movies or Mary Shelley books (though they are classics), but were referring to projects that didn’t have a clear idea and were a mishmash of different ideas. “Finger Licking Good” Design?

Those of you who live in the UK will have probably have noticed the new print/poster campaign for KFC. The campaign uses yellow/orange greasy finger and hand marks on the KFC corporate red colour. The designs feature fingers prints that makeup the image of a sweetcorn cob, another shows greasy hand marks as chicken wings and fingers as fries. Read the rest of this post » » »
